Peter Peter first caught the attention of record label Audiogram with a home-recorded four-track demo. This led to his 2011 debut album, produced by Howard Bilerman (known for his work with Arcade Fire and Cœur de pirate). Peter Peter’s second record was born from a deep obsession with his keyboards; the instruments became the cornerstone of his creative process. Une version améliorée de la tristesse was released at summer's end in 2012, a sensual exploration of Montreal nightlife, produced by the artist himself alongside Emmanuel Éthier (Corridor, Jimmy Hunt) and Pascal Shefteshy (Martha Wainwright, Daniel Bélanger). Peter Peter made his mark on stage at several major events, including the Francos de Montréal, Pop Montreal, M for Montreal, Printemps de Bourges, Osheaga, CMJ Music Marathon, SXSW, CMW… In 2017, Peter Peter returned with a third album, Noir Éden. Another collaboration with Emmanuel Éthier and Pascal Shefteshy recorded across Paris and Montreal, Noir Éden is a cinematic, multilayered album—a piece of science fiction designed to warp the immutable waves of FM radio.

Even as the pandemic disrupted the release of Super Comédie—his fourth album, characterized by a vaporous, 80s-inspired synth sound—Peter Peter was already looking toward the next chapter. He found himself at a crossroads: return to the familiar, guitar-driven style of his past, or break free from it entirely and embrace a radical electronic-dance sound that had long intimidated him. In the end, he opted for the latter. Synths, piano, programming, and sequences were thus lined up in battle formation. Although he had already flirted with this purely and fundamentally electronic approach in "Bien réel", the explosive opening track of his 2017 album Noir Éden, the Quebec artist didn't follow up on it. This time around, he set himself certain limits, such as not using any musicians, only bringing in Guillaume Guilbault (Constance, Duu, KROY), to co-produce the tracks at the very end of the process.

Without losing his signature melancholy or his gift for comforting the lonely and the wounded, Peter Peter has masterfully reinvented his musical language. He frequently draws from the rich legacy of the UK techno scene, channelling the influence of heavyweights like Underworld, Boards of Canada, and The Chemical Brothers, as well as contemporary icons Kelly Lee Owens and Daniel Avery... Moving effortlessly between dance-floor euphoria and the hazy atmosphere of the after-hours, his latest work is alive with flickering rhythms and restless ideas. It’s the same interplay of shadow and light that has always defined his work, now supercharged by raw club energy. Undeniable proof that the dance floor and the mind can coexist in total euphoria.

In 2025, he created the original soundtrack of series Heated Rivalry, directed by Jacob Tierney and based on the novels by Rachel Reid. The series has become a worldwide hit, enjoying a spectacular success. The soundtrack was released on January 2026 on the Sony label, instantly racking up huge numbers of plays on streaming platforms.
